The North Star
More than a car, a compass
THE ROLE OF THE HALO CAR
When people ask why Kodawari exists, I usually don’t start with an explanation.
I grab the keys to the NSX and we go for a drive.
That drive tends to say what words can’t.
The NSX is our North Star. It holds the balance between how we work and how we have fun. The way it looks matters to us. The way it feels matters just as much. And the way it teaches you, slowly, how to drive with intention, that’s something we deeply believe in.
This car reminds us that driving is a craft. One that asks for patience. One that asks you to be present. One that keeps giving more the longer you stay with it.
It’s also how we invite people into our world.
Cars can open doors. They can start friendships. They can wake something up in you that maybe went quiet for a while.
You don’t need huge power for that.
You need feel. You need connection. You need that moment where the car starts to move with you instead of against you.
That’s why we’ve shared hundreds of moments and built so many memories around this car.
That’s why the NSX became our halo.
Where The Feeling Began
My journey with cars started with a 1999 Civic.
It was the first car that really felt like mine.
Through my brother and my cousin, that car ended up with a B16B engine. A 1.6-liter Type R motor. Revving that engine all the way to 9,000 changed everything for me.
That was when I understood something about Honda.
The heart of these cars has always been the motor. The way it delivers feeling. The way it pulls you into the experience.
That Civic led to a CSX Type S. Then a Civic Type R.
When we opened the shop, it led us to a 1992 NSX. Later on, an S2000 joined the picture too.
Hondas have never been about chasing speed for us.
They’ve always been about feel. About personalization. About starting where you are and growing from there.
I’ve always believed we’re all born as base models.
Over time, we pick up knowledge, skill, and perspective. Slowly, we build ourselves into something more complete.
That same idea lives in the NSX.
We started with what we had and we’re building our version of it, one step at a time, growing with the car and growing as drivers alongside it.
BUILD PHILOSOPHY
Every change on this car comes from belief.
We let experience lead the decisions.
Stance as the foundation
How a car sits sets the tone. Proportion, fit, and finish matter.
Lightness, feel, engagement
Lightweight. Naturally aspirated. Manual. Focused on how the car feels.
Design with restraint
JDM roots shaped by European and Scandinavian influence. Nothing added without a reason.
Style matters
If a car doesn’t make you smile when it passes by, it’s probably not finished yet.

WHAT THE NSX REPRESENTS TODAY
The NSX has always been a canvas for us.
It’s where we learn, experiment, and refine how we approach our craft.
We’re genuinely happy with where it sits right now.
The focus has shifted toward spending time with the car, developing our driving, and letting experience guide what comes next.
We’ve learned what happens when modification moves faster than understanding.
Balance gets lost. The relationship changes.
So we’re choosing patience.
This car will keep coming apart and going back together.
It will keep showing up at open houses, on back roads, at track days, and in quiet moments at the shop.
It will keep being shared with the community.
That part will never change.
That’s Kodawari.
